Hemp seeds similar to those used in food did not demonstrate the presence of marijuana when analyzed by GC-MS. In this study, ingestion of hemp seed food products resulted in urine samples that tested positive for marijuana. Existing laws that prohibit cannabis use in the workplace differ from state to state. Hemp protein contains a small amount of THC, but not enough that you don't pass a drug test.
Hemp protein does not affect the urine drug test for cannabis or MMJ. The THC content of less than 0.3% in hemp is below the level required by federal law and is therefore safe to consume. A routine drug test doesn't detect CBD, so using hemp oil or other related products won't give a positive drug test result. That said, the CBD industry is not strictly regulated in the United States, and there is a large gray market in Canada.
It is therefore possible to fail a drug test with a CBD product, so we'll talk below about how this can happen. It is possible to fail a THC-based marijuana drug test on hemp oil, hemp seed, or hemp seed extract, the ingredient in many CBD oils and supplements. Hemp seed oil is made from the seeds of the hemp plant and contains little or no tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and contains no active CBD.
